Community and Consultancy work

* 1976-2008, part -time private practice as a Consulting Psychologist

* Regular lectures over a 25 year period to various community support groups, including cancer support groups (Make Today Count; The Cancer Information and Support Society) on issues including stress and cancer, reducing the psychological side effects of chemotherapy, and stress management.

* Public lectures concerning the psychological management of chronic pain and injury, through the University Department of Community Programs, local back pain support groups, and the special needs of injured migrants.

* The provision of voluntary support services in the Newcastle area, from 1994 to 2005, to Groups of Cancer Patients (with assistance from the NSW Cancer Council and Catholic Church agencies). More than 400 patients participated in our groups over this period.

Other professional experience and memberships

Fellow and Past President of the Australian College of Private Consulting Psychologists (ACPCP NSW).

Full member of the Australian Society of Hypnosis(ASH).

Executive member (foundation president) of the Hunter Branch of the Australian Society for Sex Educators Researchers and Therapists (ASSERT).

Member of the national body of Practising Psychologists in Australia, Psychology Private.
